But it’s the not so lazy, crazy days (and nights) of late springtime that really has people talking, and wondering.
Summer officially kicks off on Saturday but lately there’s been hardly an inkling of anything resembling a launch into those days of haze and laze.
In recent days we’ve almost been blown off the map by gales blowing off snow, coated in red dust, dug out the thermal undies again and shivered in day time temperatures in true winter single figures. And that’s without the wind chill factor.

But sometimes there’s an air of mystery more intriguing than the object itself. That very smart lot at Family History are investigating the story behind a very handsome and very old trophy they have just received. It’s engraved the ‘The Lithgow Hennessy Cup’ dating back to the 1920s. But here’s the real mystery; It was found undamaged on the local garbage tip at Bargo in the Southern Highlands with not a clue how it got there. Any takers on that one?
It’s the Aldi thing
YOU could be forgiven for thinking the mad Christmas rush has started early at Lithgow Woolworths and Coles. Just blame Aldi for the longer checkout queues. Lithgow Aldi is currently near the end of a significant makeover and its customers, loyal as they are, have to get their shopping fix somewhere. Don’t they?
