Macquarie Fields woman Danielle King, 38, pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited drug and attempting to bring a prohibited drug into a place of detention. 

On her way to a prearranged visit with an inmate at 9.20am on October 13, she was searched after the drug dog Shadow indicated she was carrying drugs. According to documents presented at court, she volunteered an orange balloon which she had been carrying in her bra. It contained 20 suboxone strips (buprenorphine and naloxone). 

King was fined a total of $850 for both offences. 

Green Point man Andrew Thomas Kauter, 33, was fined a total of $810 for possessing a prohibited drug (0.34 grams of methylamphetamine), being in custody of a knife in the grounds of a Correction Centre and possessing equipment to administer a prohibited drug. 

NSW Police Transport and Public Safety Command and the Department of Corrective Services had organised an operation targeting visitors to the Lithgow facility on Saturday, October 13. It included searching vehicles on entry.

As Kauter drove in, his vehicle was searched. Three blue folding knives were found in the car, one in the centre console, one in the glove box and one in the back of the vehicle. A glass pipe was also discovered in the back. The drug was found during a search of Kauter’s person. 

Darren Leslie Baxter, 43, of Bowenfels was fined $750 and disqualified for six months for mid range drink driving. He registered a blood alcohol level of 0.139 after he was pulled over for a random breath test on the Great Western Highway at Lithgow on September 22.

Andrew John Glover, 33, who was from Portland at the time of the offence and now lives in Erskine Park, was fined $500 for low range drink driving in Lithgow Local Court on November 8. He was disqualified from driving for three months dating from the offence, which occurred at South Bowenfels on July 26. 

Brandon Marc Howarth, 24, of Portland was found guilty of mid range drink driving in Lithgow Local Court on November 8. He was pulled over for a random breath test on Williwa Street, Portland, at 12.30am on September 9. He returned a blood alcohol level of 0.086. Howarth was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for six months. 

Portland man Robert Huckstadt, 19, was fined $350 for possessing a prohibited drug. The charge was laid after he was pulled over in a vehicle on Stewart Street, Bowenfels on October 12. Three resealable bags were found under the passenger’s seat, which contained 57.57 grams of cannabis.
