Meaning for every meal purchased, two meals will get donated to someone in need on Tuesday, 16 October.
The store donates one meal to local and international charities for every burrito, bowl or Grab & Go product purchased year- round through its Plate 4 Plate initiative.
Lithgow Zambrero team leader Harrison Sheehan and crew member Jesse Johnstone said they thought the initiative was a heart warming thing to be apart of.
“It helps a lot of people who can’t help themselves,” Miss Johnstone said.
“I can come to work every few days and sell a meal and know that a little kid across the world is getting their only meal for the day.”
Zambrero and an army of volunteers, will be packing over 400,000 meals in just a couple of hours to be donated to people in need in the Philippines.
Mr Sheehan said he would like to be part of the volunteering crew one year.
“I think it empowers people, and it is something I am really passionate about, wanting to see the impact, and to empower people to get past thinking about food all the time,” he said.
“I would love to see more developing countries can get out of the developing stage and this could really help.”

Mr Sheehan also spoke about the ethical choices of Zambrero as the biggest Mexican food chain in Australia.
“Out store is really ethical all round, not just in their meal donations but they care for their workers and have innovative food choices,” he said.
“They are pretty ethical to customers and people donating.”
The packed meals will be delivered to school feeding programs to promote class attendance, alleviate short-term hunger and give kids the energy they need to learn and break the cycle of poverty.
