The artwork titled ‘Seasons of the daughter’ was installed on the exterior library wall on Wednesday, July 25. But they couldn’t have an official opening until now due to prior commitments from Ms Topaz.
Chairperson of the Lithgow Tidy Towns Sue Graves, who organised for the artwork to be a part of the Lithgow laneways project, ran the ceremony.
“There is so much positivity that is going on in town and I am proud of what we have achieved so far with the laneways project,” she said.
Ms Topaz then gave a speech about what went into creating her artwork and working closely with the Lithgow Men’s Shed.
“I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I achieved without them,” she said.
According to Ms Topaz the installation represents her journey as a mother, a daughter, granddaughter and the relationship between her and her daughters. It is also relates to the relationship she has with nature and the seasonal changes in relationships.
“I can’t believe the installation actually worked because I have never done one like that before,” she said.
“I want to thank everyone for the ongoing support.
“I hope everyone enjoys it.”
