Term four sign up is on Tuesday, October 16 until 2pm, with classes commencing the following Tuesday.
Evening Book Club has resumed for this term.
If you’ve recently retired or moved to the area you’ll find Beehive is a great way meet new people and be welcomed into the community. Beehive is open to everyone and is a friendly, fun place to be and multiple daytime classes can be taken for the tuition fee of $30.
If you are a train buff, why not consider the Train Stories, past, present and future in the Tuesday afternoon class. The Writing for Fun class includes a word definition and language game prepared by one of the group’s members.
A spontaneous writing of a five-minute brainstorm is also part of the weekly program. The four books for the Book Club are The Sparrow by Mary Doria, The Trauma Cleaner by Sarah Krasnestein, and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
This class meets on a Wednesday evening. If you enjoy learning more about our local native flora, why not join the ‘What Pea is That’ class? This is a most friendly and interesting class and, weather permitting, is often spent outdoors in the Hassan Walls area.
Would you like to find ways to include more fruit and vegetables in your diet and have fun making easy raw and cooked recipes from around the world? Then enjoy afternoon tea and take home a container of delicious and healthy food for dinner? Wheat free? Dairy free? Refined sugar free? NO problem. Sign up for the pure vegetarian cooking class.
If you would like to be part of this friendly environment but are not crafty, why not consider helping in the kitchen, preparing lunches and morning teas. Free lunch and coffee are given to these volunteers in appreciation of their assistance.
The annual garden party is Friday, November 2.
Come along and enjoy a light lunch and morning tea in the beautiful Hoskins surroundings – maybe take a tour of the Sorensen Gardens with Stewart, browse the art and craft displays, buy some home-made cakes or books, alternatively just relax and be entertained by the Uke ‘n’ sing troupe and the Lithgow Community Choir.
A Christmas cardmaking workshop will be held November 10. A representative from Kaszazz will also do a ‘make and take’ demonstration.
Anyone who enjoys making cards are most welcome. Further information is available at Beehive, on Facebook or contact 0413 060 115.
