Road spikes were deployed at Walang to stop a man who allegedly fled from police in a stolen vehicle on Sunday.
About 2.15am on Sunday, October 14, a Toyota Corolla was stolen from a property on Dicker Road, Little Hartley.
A short time later, police from Chifley Police District attempted to stop the car as it travelled west on the Great Western Highway towards Lithgow.
Police allege the man failed to stop and there was a pursuit.
The driver, a 35-year-old man, was arrested after road spikes were used at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Walang Drive at Walang.
The man was taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with mid-range drink driving, taking and driving a conveyance without consent, entering enclosed lands, and failing to stop and driving dangerously during a police pursuit (Skye’s Law).
He was refused bail to appear at Bathurst Bail Court on Sunday, October 14, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday, October 15.
