A Lithgow woman had to cut free from a car after a crash on the intersection of Reed and Clarice Streets in Lithgow on Friday, October 12.

The crash occurred just after 12pm. A white transit van and a small black car were involved in the crash. While the driver of the black car, a 60-year-old man, was able to free himself from the car, his passenger was trapped.
The Lithgow Fire and Rescue and VRA crews attended to cut her free from the car.
Both of the occupants of the black car were taken to Lithgow Hospital for observation.
The driver of the transit van, a 28-year-old St Mary’s man, was uninjured. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Drug charge
An 18-year-old Portland man will face Lithgow Local Court on a possession charge after he was pulled over by police on Friday, October 12.
The man was driving with friends in Stewart Street, Bowenfels, when he was pulled over at about 2pm. Officers questioning the man and his passengers suspected there may have been drugs in the car.

Police allege the driver agreed there were drugs in the car, and 57.75 grams of cannabis was found, which had been stored under the driver’s seat.
‘Ice’ possession
A Mount Victoria man was charged after allegedly being found in possession of the drug ‘ice’ in Lithgow at 1.15am on October 11.
The 23-year-old was stopped by Lithgow police at Bowenfels on suspicion he may have purchased drugs.
Police allege a small amount of methylamphetamine or ‘ice’ was found in a search. He will face Lithgow Local Court at a later date.
