It was a tough climb last year up all 1504 stairs and 98 storeys of Sydney Tower when Fire and Rescue personnel from Lithgow’s 363 took on the charity event for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research at Macquarie University.

Always up for more punishment, Lithgow fire-fighters will once again be taking on the flights of stairs, wearing full firefighting kit weighing 20kg.
Scott Wilkinson and Cameron Stevenson will be representing the Lithgow crew in 2018 and their fundraising efforts are already under way. The internal stairs at the Lithgow station had provided a valuable training site for this year’s competitors. A total of 600 fire-fighters are expected to take part.
They are holding a trivia night at the Commercial Hotel this Thursday, September 27, with more than 100 people expected to attend.
