It has been a hugely successful season for the Lithgow Storm Under 15’s side, which will contest the junior league grand final this Saturday, September 1. Coach Ben Lane said the team had performed well all season, making it through the regular season undefeated.

“They’ve been strong all year and play well as a team. They all play for each other,” he said.
The team came together two years ago, originally as a Wallerawang team before combining with the Lithgow Storm last year.
They backed up a solid 2017, which saw them reach the grand final, which they lost to Bloomfield.
Their first loss in 2018 came in the semi-final against CYMS, before their knock out round against old foes Bloomfield, which they won convincingly 28-10. At this weekend’s grand final, they will have another knock against CYMS at Cowra.

“The loss in the semi-final was probably due, and let off a lot of pressure for the team. It’s harder to go through to the grand final undefeated,” Lane said.
There is plenty of talent in the Storm side, of which seven players have been selected to contest the upcoming NSW Country Championships as part of the Group 10 side in Dubbo in September.
In the lead-up to this weekend's match, the coaching team of Ben Lane, Jason Nunan and Ross Harrington would be concentrating on improving the team’s ball control.
