The Zig Zag Public School Year 6 student has decided to undergo the big chop and raise funds for Variety the Children’s Charity, as well as donating 36cm of her hair.
The hair will be turned into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to illness.
Charlotte hoped the wig would be ready “just in time for Christmas, as no one should be unhappy at Christmas”.

She said she became aware that lost their hair due to illness at a young age and has been growing it for the last 12 months in a determined effort to donate.
Lithgow City Cr Maree Statham will be doing the hair-cutting honours at Zig Zag Public School on September 21.
Charlotte and her family have been asking local businesses for donations or vouchers to go towards a raffle she will be holding at the Foundations Market in Portland on September 9.
