Tidy Towns, in conjunction with Lithgow and District Community Nursery and Lithgow and Oberon Landcare Association, have organised for a special Wattle Day morning tea at Lithgow Library on the morning of Thursday, August 30.
Lithgow Tidy Towns is taking part in the Wattle Day promotion.
George Quinell has painted an Australia-shaped sign with a large sprig of wattle. The chosen species was the local Acacia buxifolia.
Allyn Jory highlighted the wattle theme with yellow bunting between the trees along the laneway leading up to Woolworths.
Wattle Day celebrates Australia's national floral emblem and is a great reminder to head outdoors to see the 80 species of wattle we have in our local area in bloom.
A wattle viewing walk will be held on Saturday, September 1, at 11am starting at the main Hassans Walls Lookout.
