The two champions for 2021 were Steve Hall who took out the scratch title with a two under par score of 70 on a countback, while the handicap title went to Corey Oldfield with a nett score of 67 nett.
It was a special win for Hall as he was one of a number of golfers who sponsored the championship in memory of their late friends, the late Peter "Munzo" Newham and Brian "Grub" Whichelo.
Another of the championship highlights was hole a one on the ninth hole by Gary Wallace. It was Wallace's fifth ace but to get an ace is always a special occasion.
The championship was played in excellent conditions although it was very wet under foot. One golfer said "it was the longest short course he had ever played in".
Once the ball hit the sodden fairways, that's where it stayed and the good scoring was testament to the winners.
There were some good scores throughout the grades which saw the following results:
In A grade, the scratch winner was Blake Bender who was unlucky after being counted out by Hall for the main title after he too carded a score of 70.
Runner up on 71 on a countback was Dave Marshall who has been in good form of late.
A grade handicap winner was Greg Jackson on 69 nett on a countback with the runner up prize going to Geoff Thompson on 70 nett on a countback.
The B grade scratch winner was Jeff Geddes with a score of 81 with the runner up being Hayden Cornwell on 82. Like Hall the win by Geddes was extra special due to the event being played in memory of two of his very good friends.
The handicap winner was Rod Clarke on 71 nett from runner up Les Goldspink on 72 nett ocb.
