IN the past 24 hours police officers have issued 31 Penalty infringement Notices (PINs) across the Western Region, with nine of them issued in the Chifley police district, which takes in the Lithgow and Bathurst LGAs.

There were two issued in the barrier Police District (Broken Hill), three in the Central West Police District (Orange), 15 in the Orana Mid-Western Police District (Dubbo/Mudgee) and two in the Oxley Police District (Tamworth).
Coles have been informed that a customer who has tested positive for COVID-19 visited the Coles Express Lithgow (also known to residents as Shell Petrol Station) store at Lot 1, Great Western Highway, South Bowenfels, between 6.20am and 6.40am on Friday, July 16. In accordance with advice from NSW Health, anyone who attended this venue is a close contact and must immediately get tested and self-isolate for 14 days regardless of the result and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health.
In a release from Coles they have stated the store's cleaning procedures comply with state and federal guidelines and frequent and cleaning and sanitisations has occurred in the time since the customer was last on site.
A 24 year old Western Sydney man has been issued a PIN for breaching public health orders, and charged with traffic offences after his vehicle was stopped in Lithgow at 4:30pm Saturday, July 17.
The man was directed to return to Sydney and will face Court in Sydney later this month.
A 43 year old Sydney man was issued a $1000 PIN for breaching a stay at home order after his vehicle was stopped for an RBT on Main Street, Lithgow at 10:45pm on Saturday, July 17.

The man was charged with a drink driving offence and later bailed to appear in the Lithgow Local Court next month.
And a 20-year-old man from Greater Sydney was issued a PIN for breaching public health orders after he was stopped by Police in Rydal at 11am Sunday, July 18.
Acting on information received Police spoke with the man who was later determined to be in the region for non-essential purposes.
He was directed to return to Sydney.
There were no PINs issued in the Central North or the New England Police District.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, along with local police are actively patrolling arterial roadways, train stations, bus stations, camping grounds, recreational areas and service stations to minimise the impact of COVID in our communities.
Police said if people are stopped for a breath test their licence is checked, and inquiries will be made about travel in the Western Region.
Residents in Parkes, Blayney, Orange, Molong and Bathurst are also being urged to get tested after two separate incidents of people travelling through the region from the Greater Sydney area.
