Rydal is getting ready for spring with great plans for opening the parks and gardens of Rydal in September.
There will be thousands of daffodils as well as sculptures, an art exhibition, music, food and stalls.
Energy Australia is offering $1000 in prize money for the best sculpture and the Rydal Village Association is donating $250 for the people's choice award.
Likewise, there is an art competition with a $250 people's choice award.
"This year the entry for the garden festival will be at the Rydal Showground where there will be plenty of parking," organiser Lindsay Green said.
"The entry fee of $10 gives you a program and map of what gardens are open and the time of the various music performances.
"There is a great variety of music which includes the popular pipe bands, the Lithgow City Orchestra, the Lithgow Band, and other smaller music groups."
The free hop-on hop-off bus will take you around the village and will also meet the train.
The Rydal cooks will be busy with food and refreshments available all day at the Showground and there are plenty of picnic spots in Pioneers Park and Greg Featherstone Park.
"A big range of stalls have booked to come for the festival and the Rydal Village pop up shop will be there as well with local Hillbilly Cider, local honey, souvenir Rydal caps and Umbrellas as well as a range of second hand books," he said.
"This year the country garden of Bark Ridge will be open with its big shed and open fire and this is where the orchestra and Lithgow band will be playing."
A COVID-19 safety plan will be in place at all venues.
