Storm managed to weather down their opponents and they remain on top of the table.
Coach David Marshall says their efforts will only benefit the team in their skill set and moving towards the semi finals.
"Our efforts will hopefully continue to develop important combinations across our playing lines which is critical moving forward," he said.
He said his squad have been playing reasonably well considering there had been constant changes to the team in recent weeks.
"We have been playing well considering the make up of the team has continually changed due to injury and the availability of players," he said.
Saturday's match against Parkes was a reflection of that, according to Marshall.
Storm started well with an early goal in the first quarter but a lack of ball control allowed Parkes to gather momentum with a few chances of their own.
"Our ball movement was slow coming out of the back, and along with our lack of urgency led to them winning the 50/50 ball for the majority of the quarter which was very disappointing considering what we talked about prior the game," Marshall said.
But both sides stepped up the pace in the second quarter with Lithgow leading 3-1 by half-time.
Marshall said the third quarter was the best for his side which saw them take control and work together as a unit.
"We took control of the ball which resulted in Parkes struggling to get it out of their own half," he said.
He said Parkes defence held solid but they were unable to deal with the pressure from Storm.
"It led us to an additional two goals giving us a 5-1 lead, but as we went into the final quarter both sides started to fatigue and that led to some basic mistakes and a goal each," he said.
Marshall said his stand out players were Brandan Horner scoring a hat-trick and goal keeper Logan Hunter who made some critical saves.
He said in the lead up the semi finals, he would be getting Storm to concentrate on their ball control and structures of play.
"...something we have struggled with due to the availability of the same playing unit each week."
Storm will play on home turf this weekend where they will take on Orange.
