Grippers and Smashes played a strange match that ultimately was decided in the last rubber.
Grippers won the opening four rubbers all 2-1 for a solid 8-4 advantage, but the single games that Smashes picked up would prove invaluable later on. A 6-2 Smashes run saw them draw level at 10-all and the teams split the last two singles to see the match delicately poised at 12-apiece entering the doubles.
Smashes took both quite comfortably though to secure the come-from-behind victory, 16-12.
