The occupants of the building's southern section were evacuated as services to the structure were isolated, with fire crews working quickly to extinguish the blaze and remove any further threat.
Reportedly there was very little damage sustained in the blaze due to the swiftness of it being extinguished and the little that did occur was superficial.
Investigations continue, however early indications suggested the blaze was initially sparked by an electrical appliance within the ground floor laundry.
