One of the cancellations was the 2020 Yvonne Jenkins Award Essay competition which is sponsored annually by the Lithgow and District Family History Society.
2021 brings with it the promise of a return to a 'new' normal.
The title of the 2021 Yvonne Jenkins Award essay is "A favourite child of my grand-parent" and gives the opportunity to write a story of a parent or a much-loved or quirky aunt or uncle.
READ MORE:
Did your grandparent/s show favouritism to a child and which affected the family dynamics? Did the siblings perceive or suspect favouritism, or was it non-existent? Is the child in your story 'your' favourite aunt or uncle?
The possibilities are endless for this 1,000-word essay.
Entries close on April, 30 2021 and must be submitted with an entry form which is available by contacting the Society by email to secretary.ldfhs@gmail.com or by post PO Box 516, Lithgow 2790 or by phone 6353 1089 on Fridays between 1 pm to 4pm or through the Society's Facebook page.
