It was a memorable day for Julie Murnane who created history at the Lithgow Golf Club when she took out the Age Championship in her Age Group which was held over two weeks and on the way captured the C grade event in Saturday's event also.

She has been bitten by the golf bug and has been a big improver since starting to play competition golf last year.
Murnane who plays off 30 has been playing in the Saturday medley competition for a couple of weeks with the competition having been dominated by male members for many years and it is good to see a sprinkling of females now enjoying the competition.
She took out Saturday's C grade section with a nett score of 70 with the runner up being Brad Cornwell (19) on 71.
Best scratch score in C grade was Leo Murnane (19) with a 95.
The best nett score of the day came out of B grade when Greg Jackson (12) returned a score of 64.Runner up was Kyle Egan (12) on 66 nett while the best scratch score went to Rob Hawes (10) with a 80.
Ross Harrington (8) looks like he has been getting used of his new driver when he returned the best nett score with a 69 nett edging out Justin Nelson (1) on 71.
Best scratch score went to Brock Egan (plus 1) with a 71.
The conditions were tough with only seven players playing under their handicaps and they were those that figured in the above results.
Nearest to the pins were Julie Murnane, Rob Hawes, Ian Downey, Leo Murnane and Justin McCann.

Age Championships:
The final round of the Age Championships was held in conjunction with the stoke event which saw the following results over the two weeks (results are in scratch and nett winners sequence):
- 39 years and under: Brock Egan 144 and Greg Jackson 136 nett.
- 40 to 49 years: Chris Neville 150 and Michael Hunter 151 nett.
- 50 to 59 years: Steve Hall 148 and Greg Guest 148 nett on a countback.
- 60 to 69 years: David Warren 166 and Julie Murnane 145 nett.
- 70 plus: Dave Titcume 151 and Robert "Darky" Millar 143 nett.
The winner of the Wednesday, February 17 nine hole competition was Mark Seckold on 22 points followed by Wayne Morris 21 and Dave Duroux 19.
Vouchers went to Al Mostyn, Paul Bailey, John Chadwick, Ricky Cohen, Ken Mitchell, Chris Keller, John Bird, P Turner, Steve McCann and Jeff Geddes.
Nearest to the pin was Brian Judge.
The winner of the Friday, February 19 nine hole competition was Brian Judge with 30 points.
Runner up was Ross Harrington on 21 and Mark Seckold third on 20 points ocb.
Vouchers went to Chris Keller, Howie Fisher, Leo Murnane and Brian Giblett.
