The mother and daughter duo are set to do the World's Greatest Shave on Saturday, March 13.
"We decided to do the shave a few years ago but never went through with it, but last September my Dad passed away from lymphoma, prior to having lymphoma he had multi myeloma," Rebecca said.
"He fought hard for five years, so this cause is important to both of us because of him.
"If we can raise money and awareness to help find a cure, then other families won't have to go through the pain of losing a loved one."
Carolyn wrote an extremely touching letter about the loss of her husband Kevin and how much this shave means to them.
"September 26, 2020 my family lost someone who was very important to us, my husband Kevin.
Kevin was not only a wonderful husband and father but he was a brilliant poppa to his grandchildren. He was our friend, our confidant, our hero. He was the one we turned to, to make things right.
For nearly five years he struggled, first with myeloma and then with lymphoma. Even at his worst he was there for us, encouraging us to stay strong and be positive. Reassuring us that everything was going to be okay.
Our last conversation was him telling me not to worry, that he loved me and that things would be fine.
Kevin was by himself when he passed away. We didn't get the opportunity to say good-bye, to tell him how much we loved him and how proud we were. I wasn't there to give him a kiss or hold his hand.
He left our lives frightened and alone.
This is why we want to do our part. If doing this stops another family going through this or helps researchers find a cure then shaving our heads is an honour and something we do with pride.
Please help us help others. It's a tiny thing we can all do."
Carolyn has been sharing the letter to explain why The World's Greatest Shave was something they just had to do.
Both ladies will shave all their hair off and are considering a number two cut. Rebecca said she had never done anything this daring before. "Our goal is to raise $3000 but every dollar counts," she said.
"If this inspires others to raise awareness for any cause then I would feel proud."

Carolyn hasn't had her hair cut in over 12 months, while Rebecca had a trim 12 months ago but nothing dramatic for a few years now.
"I'm not nervous at all, very excited actually, it's hair it will grow back," Rebecca said.
She said friends, family and colleagues have been amazing support with donating, spreading the word and helping with the campaign.
The shave will be taking place at Lithgow First Grammar car park as a COVID friendly event at 11.30am.
"A big thanks to them and we are also organising a bake sale and some other small businesses are donating items to be auctioned off, more donations are always welcome as all the funds will be going to the leukaemia foundation," she said.
"A big thank you needs to go to everyone for all the support and donations.
"But the biggest thank you needs to go to Kevin Grant Doble as the biggest inspiration."
