The Grippers - Charolais match looked like it might go down to the wire with the teams tied at 4-all after four rubbers.
Charolais took charge from there though, racing through the last five singles and the only doubles rubber to outscore Grippers by ten games to two for an ultimately straightforward 16-6 victory.
Pauline Wellfare and Mark McAulay couldn't be split for best record of the round, producing a pair of 6-1s for Charolais, while Sean Jenkins went 2-4.
Shane Eagle and Lou Kappos both finished 3-4 for the well-beaten Grippers, and Riza Wiradi lost a couple of close games on his way to 0-6.
Sharnie's Boys won the first rubber 2-1 in their encounter with Smashes only to see Smashes take the next 2-0 to go up 3-2.

Matthew Kappos (6-2) did all he could to get his Smashes side close, with Linda Kappos going 3-4 and Peter Jaccoud 2-6.
