The award was originally going to be presented in March, but due to COVID restrictions June-Maree has had to wait for her special day.
"I just really wanted the ceremony because I completed it near my birthday but I've had to wait," June-Maree said.
June-Maree was required to complete overall 12 challenges. Two challenges for each section of: Promise and Law, Service, Outdoors, Guiding Traditions, World Guiding and Patrol System.
"I did most of the activities myself and didn't need help, it was about challenging myself to do something different," June-Maree said.
"I can't really remember but it took me around six months to a year to complete them all."
10 year-old June-Maree said she wanted to get her Junior BP because she already had a lot of badges and she wanted to achieve both tasks.
"I hope some of the other girls see that if I could get it so could they, and empower them to push themselves," she said.
June-Maree said she would like to continue to keep getting badges and try and go for the BP award.
"It is the next level up, and is more challenging but has the same idea behind it with activities and things you have to do," she said.
June-Maree's mother Jacki said that was "very proud" of her daughter.
"She has come so far with Girl Guides, she used to be so shy," Jacki said.
Lithgow Girl Guides leader Cheryl Rutherford said all of the leaders have been very excited with June-Maree's eagerness to achieve.
"She has brought to our Guide Unit a vast range of challenges and activities which all the Guides have all participated in, enjoyed and appreciated," she said.
"June-Maree has also overcome her shyness and has shown that she can lead and will be a future leader."
Central Western Region Manager Lee Judd presented June-Maree her badge and certificate. Other dignitaries who were present had the opportunity to compliment June-Maree on her award.
June-Maree said she would encourage anyone who is thinking about joining Girl Guides.
"It is lots of fun, you get to learn new things and make new friends, it is something I always look forward to after school," she said.
June-Maree said she would like to thank her Mum, Dad, the girls at Guides as well as the leaders who helped her get this award.
NEW GUIDE LEADER
Lithgow Girl Guides are really excited to welcome a young adult to Lithgow Girl Guides as a Leader, Krystelle Zuanic.
The Guides are really excited to have a new Leader and have given her the name of Teddy Bear Bee (an Australian Bee). This will most likely be shortened to Bee.
As part of becoming a Girl Guide, Krystelle made her Promise as an Adult Leader at the end of the evening.
Krystelle has been very proactive and keen, and has already commenced her new Leadership Passport.
The Guides are looking forward to Krystelle being a instrumental part of the Girl Guide Unit.
