How does the NSW Government rank us all in importance?
Blackheath got a tunnel under their village. Medlow Bath didn't.
Seems a tunnel that rescues houses, environment and residents from destruction would have the same positive impact on Medlow Bath.
Does the NSW Government think that the 600 Medlow residents are of less importance than the 4400 Blackheath residents?
It's okay to plough through the middle of Medlow Bath and take out homes, property and trees there, is it?
What about that idea someone had of a bypass around Medlow Bath joining the Blackheath tunnel?
That would give travellers fast, uninterrupted, motorway style travel for more than 10 kilometres.
Why didn't Transport for NSW think of that? And why not start it at Katoomba? From there to Mount Boyce would be about 20km - all motorway.
And no interruptions to the Great Western Highway while the building went on. Yes - imagine how much fun that years-long shemozzle will be, folks!
Central West people barely cause a government eyebrow to flicker. You're lowest on their Importance Scale.
Far easier to just continue telling you whoppers and let you think you'll do well out of one tunnel under one village.
And keep up the fairytale about the smooth, easy journey through the rest of the mountains.
Poor Central West yobbos won't really notice all the traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, school kids and 50-80-60-70-40-50, etc, speed zones.
