When most golfers are still tucked up in bed of a Saturday, Ross Harrington and Geoff Wheeler are teeing it off on the first tee at the Lithgow Golf Club at 6.52 am. This week's event was a two ball stableford aggregate and it was a case of "the early birds get the worms" with Harrington who plays off 7 and Wheeler (17) posting a good score of 78 points. A score that stood throughout the day with Wheeler the dominant partner recording 42 points by himself while Harrington had a commendable 36 points. Runners up Paul Bosman (8) and Ray Thompson (22) finished four behind the leaders with a score of 74 points. They counted out three other teams that also finished on 74 to take the vouchers. The best scratch score went to low markers Steve Hall and Damien Marjoram with 149 off the stick.
