After very competitive games in the elimination stages on Saturday, two Lithgow Workies teams advanced to the semi-finals on Sunday morning.
The Workies team of Col McDonnell and Stephen Lesslie in their match against Mudgee were behind early by 11 shots to 2.
However Col and Stephen staged a gritty fight back against their opponents and had the game all tied at 17 to 17 with the last end to play.
On the final end, Mudgee played some very good bowls to crowd the jack and made it difficult for the Workies team to draw the shot, Mudgee finally winning 23 to 17.
In the other game, the Workies pairing of Les Slattery and Col Phelan took on the team from Orange Country Club.
Col Phelan led well and was backed up by Les Slattery with some excellent shots, however Orange was matching them and the final result was always in doubt.
At the conclusion of the 20th end the match was all tied 18 to 18 with one end to play.

Both teams then played good bowls to try and gain the upper hand, with Orange narrowly edging out the Workies 20 to 18.
The final on Sunday afternoon saw Mudgee pitted against Orange Country Club.
At the conclusion of six ends, Orange held a narrow lead by 6 to 5. Then with some excellent lead bowls being played by Peter Lange from Orange and backed up by his skip, Neville Seton, Orange started to draw away and by the halfway mark were leading Mudgee by 17 shots to 5.
This trend continued and Alan Clarke and Peter Farrell from Mudgee could not get back into the game.
Orange Country Club eventually winning the match 25 to 10 to become the Senior Pairs Section One winner.
