Brown has been missing since April 22 after she escaped her new owner's home the day she arrived in Hazlebrook in the Blue Mountains.

Since then, she has headed west on a 200 kilometre long journey through the Blue Mountains and the Central West to arrive in Blayney.

Alerts posted to social media about the missing dog instantly attracted shares and sightings from concerned community members who've been keen to help.

Brown was first spotted in Blayney on Monday, August 17, with owner Carol Bertram confirming there's been sightings ever since.

The difficult thing is that 19-month-old Brown grew up on a farm and she has had little contact with people and has never been on a lead.

Ms Bertram said well-meaning community members who have attempted to catch Brown have resulted in the dog being scared and fleeing.

A Bathurst based WIRES rescuer has been called in to help dart Brown, but so far attempts have failed.

"He's been out two nights, but both times she's left before he's arrived," Ms Bertram said.

"It's been bloody horrendous."

Ms Bertram bred Brown and lives in Kangaroo Valley and had sold her to new owners in Hazlebrook the day she escaped.

This new owner, however, no longer wants the dog and Ms Bertram is keen to have her back on the farm.

"We've got a lady feeding her [in Blayney] and we're going to come up early one morning," Ms Bertram said.

"She will follow me, but the last time we did it it was at night and she was spooked by a torch.

"We haven't gone this far to let her get away."

Brown is the size of a German shepherd and is white in colour.
