Residents around Lithgow awoke on Saturday morning to thick blankets of snow after a major cold front moved across the region.
While the snow was fairly light on Lithgow's Main Street, other places and nearby suburbs received centimetre- deep falls.
Oberon received centimetre-deep falls, while there was enough at Sunny Corner, Yetholme and Mount Rankin for residents to bask in their own 'winter wonderland'
The occasion caused many members of the community to connect snow chains to their tyres and explore areas that received thicker coverings of snow.
The snow closed major roads, including the Great Western and Mitchell highways and some roads, mostly around Oberon and Jenolan Caves, remained closed into Sunday.
