With many teams involved and players happy to be back on the courts, here are the latest results from round four of the Lithgow Netball Association's winter competition.
Netta
The Portland Lollipops are improving every week. Zoey Curran has an amazing game, scoring her first goal for the season. Avantika Reedy has a great game in defence. The Lollipops would like to thank Workies for giving them extra players for the game.
Division 4
Workies Rubies 28 defeated Portland Pandas 0
Rubies: Summer Gaudry was on point with her shooting. Grace McAndrews was great in attack moving around the court.
Pandas: The team are improving each week. They are moving the ball down the court well with Olivia Evans having a great game getting lots of intercepts with help from Georgia Curran getting the ball down to the circle.
Wang Stars 8 defeated by Portland Popstars 32
Popstars: The girls are really gelling well on the court. Charlotte Collins' defensive skills helped the team to victory with lots of intercepts. Mia Hamilton is improving weekly in the goal circle.
Division 3
Portland Hotshots 32 defeated Vipers 15
Portland Pocket Rockets 19 defeated by Portland Hotshots 38
Hotshots: The team played 2 games this week. Jarah Cafe was on fire with her shooting game, using the circle to her advantage! Always with a smile, Zoe Keygan moved around the court swiftly, defending well in both games.
Pocket Rockets: A hard game this week and the girls fought hard. Charlotte Handley defended extremely well and covered centre like a boss. Macy Brown showed how versatile she can be, going from centre to shooter. Ashlee Cooper got some great intercepts and Ashton Bullock showed off her skills getting some great goals.
Division 1
Wang Amazons 23 defeated by Wang Tigers 62
Amazons: It was an enjoyable match between Tigers and Amazons. Julia Collins was a fast and strong centre connecting defence and attack ends of play while Katie Wright was a dynamic player who broke well for centre pass and positioned herself well in the goal circle.
Tigers: A great team effort in this game. MacKatelyn Hepple supported well in the centre court and through the defence end of the court. Ella Houlison had yet another fabulous game in defence intercepting many passes from Amazons and then switching to attack for the last quarter, she is such an amazing all rounder. Tayla Alexander had so much success in the goal circle, her shots find the ring almost every time.
Vikings 44 defeated Vixens 40
Vikings: Stand out performances by Maggie Muir and Emily Chatham for continual effort!
Vixens: Josephine Smith was excellent on the court, finding the gap between 2 defenders all game. Ella Mickelson was great at reading the play making endless intercepts.
Vixens played it tough with only 5 players taking it to Vikings all game! Both teams enjoyed their friendliest game of the season!
Wang Swifts 27 defeated by Wang Phoenix 30
