Monday was partly cloudy with westerly winds between 20km/h and 30 km/h and reached a top of 12 degrees.
Tuesday looked to be another windy and cloudy day reaching a top of 14.
The cold snap is set to come on Wednesday with a high chance of showers and snow possible above 1200 metres.
Thursday's forecast again predicts a chance of showers with a minimum temperature of two and a maximum of eight, while Friday's temperatures drop again to a low of one and a top of seven degrees.
Lithgow residents could be waking up to the sight of widespread snow this coming Saturday.
The Bureau of Meteorology's MetEye is forecasting widespread snow for regions around Lithgow as well, including Orange, Blayney, Oberon, Bathurst and the Blue Mountains.
Forecast also indicates snowfall right through to Crookwell, across the ACT and down into the Snowy Mountains.
Snow in the Lithgow area may start flaking down as early as Friday night around 10pm.
It will be most widespread between 4am and 7am on Saturday morning, before easing off by early afternoon.
Lithgow has already received a healthy drop of rain in recent days too, with 34.2 millimetres recorded last Monday, August 10 and 16 millimetres over the weekend.
Motorists wanting to adventure out in the great white are advised to exercise caution with ice and snow on the roads and should drive to the conditions.
