To help the students prepare for their work experience placements, Skillset Orange paid a visit to the school on Thursday, August 6.
Topics covered included Skillset Services, Apprenticeships and Traineeships, what employers are looking for, applying for jobs, cover letters, resume writing, interview tips and mock interviews.
La Salle careers adviser Peter Tracey said the learning program was a spin off from the yearly training day where students learn about the requirements of applying for a job and being a good worker
"This particular program was developed and delivered by Skillset and provided a big insight into the opportunities that exist for our students outside of the school environment," he said.
He said the purpose of the day was to develop students' core skills in letter writing, resume development and tips for interview processes.
"Our students were well engaged and I'm sure they all took away something of value," he said.
Mr Tracey said he would interview students in the coming weeks to determine their further needs.
"We will try to complete the White Card training and send our students out into the workplace as part of our work experience program, COVID-19 permitting," he said.
He also thanked La Salle staff for their assistance on the successful day.
