Four organisations across the Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions are looking ahead to recovery following a devastating bushfire season, armed with a grant from CommBank's Bushfire Recovery initiative that has seen the bank invest more than $180,000 into the local area.

The CommBank Bushfire Recovery Grants are awarded to community organisations to help them rebuild important facilities and infrastructure that were lost in the fires.
From Lithgow, to Blackheath, the list of local organisations that received the grant and are on the road to recovery include:
Zig Zag Railway Co-op LTD, a historical tourist attraction based in Clarence, received $50,000 which will be used to rebuild vital infrastructure that has been damaged.
Blue Mountains Rhododendron Society of New South Wales, based in Blackheath, received $50,000 which will be used to regenerate their gardens and natural habitats, as well as rebuilding protective barriers and bridges for tourists.

Sri Om Foundation Limited, a charity that cares for the elderly based in Lithgow, received $50,000 which will be used to reconstruct essential accommodation facilities to their property.
The City of Greater Lithgow Mining Museum, based in Lithgow, received $30,000 which will be used to reconstruct severely damaged 20th Century buildings and surrounding infrastructure.
CommBank Head of Community Investment Nathan Barker, said while the immediate danger of the bushfires has diminished, it's by no means over for those affected.
"We're proud to be able to provide real support to our local community, and know that these grants will go a long way to making sure these businesses are ready to reopen their doors in the near future," he said.
"After what has been a challenging six months for many, we'd like to encourage other organisations in a similar position to come forward and apply for the grant."
