Lucky for Portland Golf Club, round three of the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) means there's some cash to splash.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole recently visited the club to announce funding of $85,000 for the purchase of a tractor mower to replace a 27 year-old mower currently in use.
"The mower they're using now is continually breaking down and very limited in the ground it can cover.

"A new mower will at least halve the time it takes to keep the course manicured, looking picture perfect and in a playable condition." he said.
Mr Toole said club volunteers have been in a serious need of this new equipment and took his hat off for their dedication in ensuring the golf club remains a part of the community's sporting life.
"Their hard work means that club members, visitors and their guests have facilities that allow them to enjoy a round of golf as well as enjoying the friendship of fellow participants and other local residents," he said.
