Snow flurries fell on the outskirts of Lithgow at Yetholme, down the mountain in Blackheath and out towards Jenolan Caves from 6.30pm.
The Great Western Highway was lightly dusted with a white blanket but did not settle due to rain falls.
Despite occasional flurries on Friday morning there were no reported road closures on LiveTraffic.
Motorists however, were advised to exercise caution with a snow and ice warning between Lithgow and Bathurst, and Medlow Bath and Wentworth Falls.

The cold front continued into the weekend with a top temperature of 9 degrees on Friday. A chance of showers also predicted with southwesterly winds between 25 to 35 kilometres per hour.
Lithgow is in for a partly cloudy Saturday with a chance of a shower. Southwesterly winds of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour are predicted with a minimum temperature of 2 degrees and a maximum of 11.
Sunday is looking to be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of a shower. The top temperature is predicted to be 10 degrees and a low of 3.
