The penalty infringement notice (PIN) was one of eight handed out across the Central West during the Easter long weekend, after the accused were unable to provide police with a 'reasonable excuse' for being outside their home.
The 32-year-old Lithgow man was issued with a $1000 fine by Bankstown police for failing to comply with the Public Health Act after he was found at a hotel in Villawood at 11.15am on Saturday.
Police officers said the man had received a warning the day before, but continued to associate with a group of men at the location.
Also on the long weekend, six PINs were issued to people in the Orana region, with another issued to a man in Parkes.
