In attempt to keep the community safe from the growing coronavirus, Lithgow City Council has implemented the following actions as of Wednesday, March 18.

Lithgow, Portland and Wallerawang Libraries will be closed to the public until further notice.
JM Robson Aquatic Centre, Lithgow Visitor Information Centre and Eskbank House Museum will also be closed.
Council has advised anyone wishing to contact Council to do it via email or telephone. In person service at the Lithgow Customers Service Centre will be limited to urgent and essential enquiries for a four week period.
The Lithgow Mobile Bushfire Recovery Service at Lithgow Library on Thursday afternoons has also been cancelled. Council related bushfire recovery queries can be directed to customer service.

Council has advised a decision on future mobile recovery services will be made after four weeks.
LithGlow 2020, Ironfest and Lithgow Show have also been cancelled.
Local sporting clubs including soccer, hockey, rugby league and cricket have cancelled training sessions and games until advised differently.
Lithgow Council stated in a media release on Tuesday, March 17 that they take advice on all public health matters from the State and Federal health departments and will update their response to coronavirus should the situation further evolve.

Essential services listed below will continue as normal:
- Urgent road maintenance
- Water and sewer services
- Domestic Waste collection and Lithgow Waste Management Facility
- Dealing with dangerous dogs.
- Cleaning services - Council will program Exeloos to clean more often
