The young chefs were put into groups and had to prepare a main meal as part of their term assessment and present it to the judges who were nominated school teachers.
Each group was judged on presentation, taste, teamwork, cleanliness, identifying and defining problems, recipe choice, equipment, roles, nutrition and evaluation.

Food Tech teacher Mark Picman said he was very impressed with the high standard of food prepared.
"All students were eager to present a delicious meal. A thoroughly enjoyable task for all the class," he said.
Results are yet to be confirmed, but it will be a close finish with only a couple of marks separating the winning teams.
