LINC has welcomed a new general manager in long term employee Lydia Commins and local girl Helena Bilby who is the new receptionist.
Lydia began working at LINC in 2006 as a casual employee running the Community and Kids program, which involved conducting parenting courses, running play groups, developing programs to suit child and family needs and managing a small team.
As time went on Lydia became an essential employee at LINC working in many areas to increase her skills and qualifications.
"Then this opportunity came up and I took it, I'm very excited to step into this role and support the incredible staff, our clients and the community in the best way possible," she said.
Lydia said as part of her role as general manager she would like to ensure LINC's partnerships with other agencies are strong.
"Of course I would love for LINC to provide more support services, but I believe that we need to make sure that the services we already provide are being done at the highest standard," she said.
"There is no point in offering more if we are not doing what we have well."
Once she is certain that LINC is offering high quality services, then she will look to source the correct funding for more programs.
"We will then look to find gaps in the community and address those accordingly, which will give us the potential to grow," she said.
Lydia said that her priority was the participants in LINC programs and her staff members.
"The priority is making sure that all the participants of LINC are well supported and that we run a quality service for them," she said.
"LINC has a great team of employees who work well with each other, so making sure staff are offered good opportunities to excel is important."
Lydia said she wanted to make sure that LINC was a welcoming place to support the community when they arrive.
The first face they will see when they enter is new employee, Helena Bilby.
Helena grew up in the Lithgow region, attending school within the area before gaining employment at the Lithgow Tourism Centre.
"I was use to greeting tourists and talking about the area but now I get to meet the locals," she said.
On a two year contract Helena will assist staff, greeting clients and helping out where she can. While on the job, Helena will also undertake a Certificate IV in Community Services through TAFE Lithgow.
"I just thought this would be good opportunity to work in the community," she said.
