Meteorologists predicted days of rain, with some parched towns in the region expected to receive a month of rain this week.
Orange received the most overnight rainfall with 27.6 millimetres recorded by 8am on Wednesday.

This was followed by Bathurst, with the Bureau of Meteorology's weather station at the airport recording 16.2mm.
Forbes also received good rainfall at 11.4mm, while Lithgow had 9.6mm and Young had 7.6mm.

Other towns received less including Mudgee (4.6mm), Parkes (4.2mm) and Cowra (3.8mm), while Dubbo had received just 1.4mm by 8am on Wednesday.
More rain is predicted for the region this week, with Thursday set to be the wettest day when 20-40mm of rain is expected.
