Portland and Wallerawang experience higher unemployment rates than other Lithgow Local Government Areas, meaning young people may face barriers to cost-effective transport when accessing services only available in Lithgow, according to Headspace.
Headspace Lithgow Community Engagement Coordinator, Jason Eggins said a core goal for the centre was breaking down barriers to mental health support.
"Young people in country communities deserve access to mental health support services - no young person should miss out on accessing Headspace Lithgow services," Mr Eggins said.
Eligible young people can use taxi vouchers through Lithgow City Radio Cabs, to access free mental health, general health and vocational support services at the centre.

"Our long-term objective is to improve the mental health of young people and remove the stigma of accessing support. We hope that these taxi vouchers encourage young people in the outer Lithgow regions to reach out and make a free appointment if they need it," he said.
By providing access to services not available in the local community, Headspace Lithgow aim to improve the outlook for regional young people.
EnergyAustralia Head of Mt Piper, Greg McIntyre said that the grants program runs twice a year and is in place to serve the community.
"Headspace Lithgow's initiative ensures young people can safely arrive and be supported by some of the region's best services, is a worthy recipient," he said.
"We are proud of the work they do, proud they're part of our community and we look forward to seeing this in practice."
