Local photographer Warren Hawkless, who happened to be at the big race captured some of the iconic moments and cars that took to the track.
"It was awesome at the start of the race when the cars started in the dark," he said.
Mr Hawkless said one of the best moments was to hear the sounds of the engines.

"The sound of all the cars starting from a rolling start was amazing," he said.
"It was awesome to here the roar of all the engines at once at the start."
According to Mr Hawkless there was 43 thousand spectators over the three days of racing and the track was a buzz of excitement.
