Gumnut childcare have been collecting food and hygienic products for the local RFS volunteers who have been spending their time fighting fires around the region.
The educators and children of Gumnut were pleased to be able to handover a large quantity of products to Ian Dray of the Wallerawang/Lidsdale RFS.
The centre is hoping to be able to collect another large donation before the Christmas break.
If any members of the community would like to assist with Gumnuts collection, you can drop into the centre at 21 Proto Avenue, Lithgow.
Wallerawang RFS Facebook page posted a touching message, thanking the community for their donations.
"On behalf of everyone from Wallerawang RFS we would like to thank the people who donated to our brigade," the message read.
"We have had over 70 community members, out of area people and also organisations donate to us! We are very thankful for every donation big or small."
The message stated that the RFS would be sorting through the donations to share with other local brigades.
"A massive thank you to everyone again, it was a massive turn out and we sure have everything we need to keep us going for a long time," it concluded.
"We are glad to have such an amazing community behind us."
