Today, I am saying farewell, as family commitments take us to Newcastle in 2020.
It was an amazing experience to work in a newspaper which has been part of the community since 1878. So many people's relatives have worked at the newspaper at one time, I have learned, or interacted with it at some pivotal moment in their lives.
From the time I arrived in Lithgow, my family and I felt welcomed and part of the community.
We have met amazing people, formed wonderful friendships, and I leave feeling so thankful I have come into contact with you all.
Thank you first of all to Len Ashworth, the Mercury's former editor, for his support and continued involvement, and to the amazing team of journalists and staff members with whom I worked.
Thank you also to the amazing contributors and correspondents who are so passionately involved in the Mercury - please never stop.
And thank you to our readers who subscribe and purchase our newspaper, who are working to ensure that quality local journalism will always have a place in Lithgow.
