The mural is part of the "Pop my mural" assignment which the five year 10 art students have been working on all term.
The artwork consists of the students' own designs and has required using various tools.
Throughout the term the students have been painting and drawing artworks, researching and using the computer and Photoshop to create and put the design together.
They have recently started creating the mural at the Lithgow Men's Shed, using outdoor house paint and spray paint to bring the design to life.
"It's taken a long time to get to this point. There has been lots of preparation all term," art teacher Tracey Cole said.
The mural is set to be completed December 12 but the class is able to come back after this date if any finishing touches need to be made.
