A fire which broke out on the corner of Ridge and Laurie Streets in Portland on Monday morning, November 18, has been contained.

Multiple triple zero calls were made from Portland residents at approximately 10.50am, alerting emergency services to the fire, which was burning in open area.
There were initially reports of danger to nearby properties.
A Fire and Rescue NSW crew is currently at the scene along with Rural Fire Service personnel.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said the situation was well in hand by 11.30am but other fire crews were still on route to the scene to ensure the fire was put out.
No properties were under threat. An area of approximately 200 square metres was burned. There were no indications of how the fire had started at this stage.
Rural Fire Service crews have been hard at work around NSW over the past week as fires raged on the Mid North and North Coasts and closer to home at the Gospers Mountain fire, which is still under control.
Residents at Glen Davis, Glen Alice and Newnes have been urged to monitor conditions in the area.
