Lithgow champion golfer Andrew Burton added yet another title to his already impressive list of victories when he took out the Blue Mountains Golf Championships held at Lithgow on Sunday.

Burton was successful in both the open (open to all golfers) and closed events (open to those who are members of the Blue Mountains clubs).
A good field turned out in superb weather with golfers praising the greens that are back to their best after their recent coring.
In the closed section, Burton returned a scratch score of 69 to take out the title with Steve Hall runner-up on 73.
In the handicap section Kevin Lloyd from Henbury (Kandos) was best with a nett score of 65 nett with Lithgow's Mike Saville runner up on 66 nett.
In the open section, the handicap winners were the same while Burton was again first with his 69 while the runner up trophy went to former Lithgow member and a Lithgow club champion Ian Nightingale who now resides and plays out of the Bathurst Bathurst Golf Club.
The grade events were as follows (winners and runners-up): Handicaps 0-14: Scratch, Harry Bender 74 and Darren Hunter 75. Handicap: Ross Harrington 68 nett and Graham Dean 69 nett.Handicaps 15 to 36: Scratch, Don Lovett 88 and Hamish McCarthy (Leura) 91. Handicap: Ben Futcher 69 nett and Eric Whalen (Oberon) 77 nett.
Thanks were extended to Paul Stewart, Henriette Evans, Max Nightingale, the greens and bar staff and to all those who helped to make the Championships the success that they were.
The big events continue throughout December with the Lithgow Open set down for Sunday, December 8 with the Lithgow short course championships and Summer Cup also held throughout December.
