A TOTAL fire ban has been declared for the second day in a row in the Central Ranges due to hot, windy and dry weather.

The ban is now in place from Friday through to 11.59pm on Saturday.
There is a very high fire danger risk in this region which includes the following council areas: Blayney, Bathurst, Cabonne, Cowra, Lithgow, Mid Western, Oberon and Orange.

In addition to the total fire ban, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds for areas around Bathurst, Blayney, Oberon and Lithgow.
Gusts of up to 54km/h have been recorded in Lithgow and Bathurst on Friday.
During a total fire ban, no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.
This includes incinerators and barbecues which burn solid fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads.
No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open.
