After a tough decision, Lithgow Railway Workshop took to social media and said the 127 year old steam train would not be ready in time for the event.
Fortunately, the shuttle trips between Lithgow and Wallerawang will still operate as diesel-hauled specials.
Shuttles departure at 10.05am, 12.05pm, 2.05pm and 4.05pm from Lithgow station.
Lachlan Valley Railway will also offer Devonshire tea on board its 1940s air-conditioned dining carriage stationed at Lithgow State Mine and guided tours of its classic 1950s diesel 4204 known as 'Grandma'.
