The girls of Lithgow High School have scooped the pool this year taking out the three prestigious top academic awards for 2019.

Dux was awarded to Ebony Seymour, closely followed by Amber Shaw and Ashley Berg accepting the Centennial Coal awards for second and third highest average marks overall during Year 12.
Principal Ann Caro, congratulated Ebony on receiving the Dux Award Sponsored by Thales Australia.
"To achieve first in Year 12 is a reflection Ebony's consistent work ethic throughout her time at Lithgow High School, she is an outstanding hard working dedicated student who fully deserves to be recognised," she said.
Ebony was also presented with the Reliance Bank Youth Award for community Involvement and Leadership, The John Joseph Memorial Award for outstanding results in Legal Studies and the Barry F Cosier award for outstanding results in English.
The School auditorium was filled with parents, grandparents and friends of the small group of Year 12 students.
The LJ Hooker First in Faculty Awards were presented to: Ethan Pringle (Mathematics), Ebony Seymour (English), Ebony Seymour (HSIE), Amber Shaw (Science), Miranda Swift (TAS), Lauren Trounce (CAPA), Kellsey Charlton (PD/H/PE) and Erin Northey (Support).
Year 12 Adviser, Mr Finlay would like to personally congratulate Year 12 on their achievements especially those who received a special award and the students who achieved academic excellence.
"Their consistent hard work and classroom performances have been rewarded with this recognition," he said.
"To all of Year 12, we wish you the greatest success in your HSC and whatever path you choose into the future.
"It has been a pleasure to see you grow into the mature young adults you are today, you will be missed by all."
The Phil Duncan Scholarship was awarded to Jacob Kelly, while William Casson and Luke Gattas were the runners up. This is an annual scholarship given by ex-student of Lithgow High School, Phil Duncan, to "kick start" three students into the new chapter of their lives.
University of Notre Dame Australia Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science went to Amber Shaw. ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award went to Tom Luchetti while Alli Schenk received the Inzitari Family Zig Zag Motel Award for Hospitality.
The Inzitari Family Zig Zag Motel Award for Business Studies went to Ashley Berg, while William Casson and Miranda Swift received the Citizenship Award sponsored by EnergyAustralia for outstanding Student Leadership and commitment to our school.
Ethan Pringle took out the Le Fevre and Co Solicitors & Attorneys Award for outstanding results in Mathematics and Ben Merrick received the Reuben F. Scarf Award for Commitment to studies.
The Lithgow High School P&C Encouragement Award for her strong focus and commitment to her studies went to Morgan Stoneley.
Makenzie Denley took home two awards; the University of Newcastle Award for a student attending Newcastle University and Most Outstanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student.
Lithgow Musical Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts went to Lauren Trounce while Min Huang took out the Colin Oloman Award for Chemistry and has an interest in Environmental change.
Timberfix Award for outstanding achievement in Timber went to Bryson Dukes, while Saxon Farr and Ethan Pringle took home 100 percent Attendance Awards.
Sporting Awards went to Kellsey Charlton for consistent effort in sport and Harrison Hopkins received the Kelvin and Robert Loundar Memorial award for Rugby League.
