Students from Cullen Bullen Public School visited Portland Central on Friday, September 20 for a friendship day and fundraiser.
Portland's year eight students, taking part in a kindness project, ran a series of activities and games including musical statues, dodge ball, what's the time Mr Wolf?, skipping and an obstacle course.
Games were followed by a meal deal lunch which raised $300 for Can Assist.
For year eight Portland Central student Lidya Shlimon, it was a cause close to her heart, having lost her mother to lung cancer earlier this year.
"I know the financial difficulty associated with an ill family member, so I took it into my own hands to try raise as much money as I can to help those out who are experiencing cancer," she said.
"I don't want other people to struggle like my family did and it feels good to be able to give."
