Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers caught the P1 licence holder who was travelling in a grey sedan at 11am on Tuesday, August 27.
The vehicle was detected at 153km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Mitchell Highway at Lucknow, between Bathurst and Orange.
Police officers issued an infringement notice to the motorist for driving at more than 45km/h above the speed limit.
The driver was also issued with a licence suspension notice and the number plates were confiscated.
